Nagin and Blakely Using Philadelphia Model for New Orleans. Can there be hope in Nawlins?? Breaking Down the Development Propaganda in Nawlins. by Ted Duplessis

  • My qualifications for writing what I write-as a Louisiana native-I started covering corruption in this area at the age of 14! I started being published by numerous La. news papers while still in a Louisiana high school. The local media doesn't give out the real facts to the public and this has been an issue for a very, very long time. I was first published at the age of 14 for an article that I wrote having to do with law enforcement and political corruption in Plaquemines Parish
  • In my late teens-I worked in Jefferson Parish exposing slum lords-and as long as I didn't go public-through my writings-I forced slum lords to get up to code in J.P.
  • This is really the first time that I had to crack a whip on Orleans parish-and while J.P. was always more corrupt than O.P.-Orleans has gone down hill fast since Katrina. Orleans still isn't as corrupt as Plaquemines Parish/St.Bernard but it was getting to that point.
  • Truth 101-everyone is getting exposed-if your feelings get hurt then do not read. S0-whine and throw tantrums but I was here writing about truth before most of you even knew where Louisiana was located on a map. People in New Orleans and other parts can't stomach truth like folks in Jefferson, St.Bernard and Plaquemines parish for some reason.

Here we go:

I have been through Philadelphia and have seen how the rebuilding and renovation-brought new life to an ethnic city while maintaining the cultural integrity and respect.  It all sounds good! Mayor Ray Nagin has taken the gloves off, realized that the Federal Government and Bush have been working to shift demographics of this city-and has come down for battle!  This new alignment with the Philadelphia planners-will benefit the middle class and natives of New Orleans instead of the newly arrived implants who don't understand our unique heritage in this city.  If Mayor Ray Nagin would have had an authentic care for the natives of this city then New Orleans wouldn't be on the brink of destruction.  Right now, there are alot of developers, corruption and dirty money being tossed around this city.  Even more than usual for an already corrupt area.  Eventually developers get greedy....real greedy and people get tired of the shady and undocumented workers on the construction sites.  Citizens can boycott, call I.C.E. and make life very hard if they feel like developers and city officials are being hostile.  The F.B.I. has never had a problem with taking out any N.O.P.D. cop.  That is one thing that I can give the FBI credit with in Louisiana state-they become the friends of the everyday Joe-blow citizen. F.B.I. strikes fear into crooked law enforcement-who turns the other way while their corporate criminal friends run scams in this area.

Ed Blakely, has even gotten back on my good side. The man has proposed modernizing New Orleans but using the old French-Creole architecture so property developments like Ici-nola in Bywater really need to cease and desist.  We don't want these huge, big, lifeless mega-condo complexes tearing down and replacing New Orleans French Creole culture and history.  In the long run-this would lower tourism value in New Orleans.  The French Quarter is only part of New Orleans-there are old French-Creole architecture gems all over the city.  Destroying Bywater or any historical area for a mega condo like ICI-NOLA would be like tearing down Old Victorian homes in the Garden district for a Walmart. Which almost happened if Anne Rice hadn't started buying up the real estate before leaving the city due to development corruption.  After watching the 2926003265 corruption, corporations and developers go after Anne Rice with so many lies and public manipulations using the local media-if there is one thing that I learned from that lady-it is that there are forces that will stop at nothing to rob, kill, sabotage and steal in the name of profit for a few people. The Time Picayunes went after Anne Rice by acting as a slanted and biased read favoring corruption and then they had the nerve to attack Creoles along with Anne Rice.  African Americans also started in with their bullshit and stupidity. It ended up being that Anne Rice was a racist and Creoles  culture was all African American culture so African American Pastors had the right to tear down our neighborhoods if the developers paid "donations" to their church/bank accounts(tax free money).  I was sick for years and years-by the way that crime rings-operating as legit businesses in this city- smeared Anne in the local papers-all because she cared about preserving New Orleans.  This has taught me that about 99% of forces are dead set on destroying our home. You just write, analyze, criticize and expose these politicians and council people-until they get so "busted" that they have no choice but to stop the corruption.

I also stand behind Mayor Ray Nagin on targeting the rebuilding up of our children in the city.  Developers and the Federal government couldn't care less about the children and education.  They really, really do not care if all the schools are torn down (particularly majority ethnic schools)-and if the parent's of children have no place to live in the area the kids also have to be displaced.  Mayor Ray Nagin will build schools that are exclusive to the children of the neighborhood, which will bring the New Orleans family, middle class, urban life back to the area.  This city isn't Manhattan and can't survive on individuals moving and living here without this city having community units. Manhattan was over developed and almost completely depleted of all life and culture. Broadway is almost dead-tourism is down and natives have fled the high rents. Orleans Parish is the more hip and Manhattan like parish while Jefferson Parish would be considered umm......Newark, New Jersey in comparison to Orleans.  People in Jefferson parish are more slower and unworldly but they will feel the stings of corruption the worse. Manhattan is the only city where white people are living in projects-sprinkled throughout the Donald Trump condos and high rises.  What they are trying to do in New Orleans-even a majority of common whites can not afford.  Whites aren't thinking along the lines that my job only pays about 10.00 or 12.00 with some tips-well YOU CANT AFFORD TO LIVE IN THE CITY IF DEVELOPERS HAVE THEIR WAY! The developers are in chat rooms and on the streets talking to whites using code words like "our development will bring in NEW faces"-in translation-we will inject white people into these ethnic areas and attempt to drive the non-whites out. You always shift whites in the South with the racial angle. It never fails. Then they tell Creoles that they will build around the Creole homes-but these developments can stretch many blocks.  Blacks are told that they will be mixed income-to make them think that they will have a chance top lease one of these mega-plexes but the mixed income-will be going to whites. People assume that whites aren't working class or all employed for some strange reason and that's just not the case.  Jefferson Parish can build high rise condos-but what idiot will pay good money to live out in the boon-docks-where jobs barely pay enough of money to buy gas for ones car?  Jefferson Parish should be focusing on being the "family" parish-and capitalizing off of Orleans mistakes but they are taking development money also. Louisiana officials aren't that bright and most of them aren't well traveled and really are easy targets for out of town developers with bad agendas. In New Orleans-whites are thinking that this is a way to get rid of blacks (just being honest from all the talk on the street and what the local media is telling them)but there are so many working class whites and artist types, in the city now-that development will also displace them and their "associates"-they mostly have family in other states.  The bulk of my social circles are white natives and I know way more white families that are displaced than blacks but I already knew more white natives in the first place.  All the whites that I know in New Orleans-are working retail, hotel chains or the quarter-but the pay is enough to afford an apartment uptown or a small place in the Garden district-but not enough for them to maintain living in New Orleans at the rate that this city is being over priced and over developed.  I don't know who the "target" audience is but it is too hot, humid and miserable for any professional to move into this city.  It just ain't gonna happen.  Brad Pitt wouldn't be here if this "green" development company weren't paying him millions to promote their agenda in the region.  Brad and Angelina didn't fall in love with Nawlins. Who bought that mess is beyond me. It is always about profit.

We have the French Quarter-and all of its sex, drug dealing in the clubs and alcoholism but we are mostly a quiet, humble family oriented city.  The majority of drug dealing and prostitution in New Orleans-all happens in the gay community-concentrated in the read of the French Quarter.  There's more drug use in that one area-than most of Orleans and Jefferson Parish combined. We have all of these agendas trying to move into the Garden district, Bywater community, Marigny, lower ninth and tear all of our history down.  It may sound good now to some council people but you will surely sink the city if the architecture is robbed.  There's nice little condo developments all throughout New Orleans but nothing like these huge, New York styled projects that take up blocks and blocks of culture and land. This is absurd to think that they can pull this off.

If Mayor Ray Nagin needs to import urban planners from the Philly-then by all means-these people are trust worthy.  As long as, they aren't corrupt and Southern-they are o.k. in my book. It is dame time that he started reaching out to real developers and planners-who understand how a modern, urban cultural diamond should operate.

Overall, Ed Blakely and Mayor Ray Nagin-have finally started talking the right talk. I feel sorry for Jefferson Parish-being that they are using the J.P.S.O. to act as home inspectors and appraisers- the developers have the Jefferson Parish council and law enforcement on their pay rolls but I think Orleans will be o.k.  Jefferson Parish is using blight laws to displace residents and develop condos and high rises-they have even gone on record as saying this is the game plan.  They do not care if they leave people homeless or children without schools-as long as it is black kids.  If I was Jefferson Parish-I would be mad as hell that I had Mexicans on one end of my Parish and low income, Orleans' parish blacks on the other end! Jefferson Parish people should be the first ones crying file at the shifting of low income people.  Where do these people go? Where do the illegal alien criminals also live? Jefferson Parish. Why? Jindal and Harry Lee-taking bribe money. Plain and simple.  Jefferson parish residents are taking it on the chin for corruption and they still can't get past this blame Ray Nagin when their own leaders have sold them out. Unemployment is high for whites due to immigration of "out-side" whites and undocumented workers are the next threat to the white native man in Louisiana. Orleans parish will be for the wealthy and Jefferson Parish will be for the poor, uneducated immigrant work force-just like Manhattan and Queens.  This is what anti-Nagin developers are trying to do and for once-Ray Nagin is right in stopping this plan.  Gov. Blanco, Vitter, Landrieu-could care less being that they live in Northern La.  This is why Jindal is being funded with so much of dirty money. Illegal Immigrants and shiny, new developments replacing people and 100 year old homes-are eye sores to New Orleans and the surrounding areas.  I don't care if Mexicans/Central Americans, work on the levees (out of eye sight and not running around the city like they started doing in Manhattan) or in Hammond (at South Eastern-since they are co signing deals to spread illegal immigrants)-but we can't have this happening in lower Louisiana. There's many displaced whites in South Eastern-areas-but everything is being geared towards Latino immigrant economic development? What about young, whites and their economical development?  All the business aid and banking is geared towards immigrants, Arabs, Asians, east Indians and newly arrived Latinos. If whites do not wake up then they will be just as bad off-as the non-middle class blacks. So, whites keep listening to people like Harry Lee and Bobby Jindal who are experts in white mentality manipulations but it will get them no where.  Let the Time Picayunes keep scaring you into "black crime stats"-half of which aren't even real.  That is the main job of the T.P.-scare the shit out of white people and beat them into political submission. That's the entire base of U.S. media in white America. Thats how big oil Republicans have manged to dominate this state-even though they have left whites homeless and in poverty. St.Berndad and Plaquemines Parish are disaster zone for whites-due to big oil Republicans who get that rural white vote-every single election (excluding Cajuns).  I know for a fact that oil companies have sponsored whites from outside the state, to move in and employ them (even if they are untrained) while white native males are being forced to relocate out of state or to other towns away from this region.  Oil companies are trying to start their corruption on a clean slate and don't want any witnesses or to be held accountable.  That's where the Road Home Program comes in the mix-there main job is to relocate people off of their land, by offering buy outs.(Plaquemines and St.Bernard) Gov. Blanco has taken a pay off and now she is running her fat ass out of office but leaving everything in lower S.E. Louisiana to big oil.  Magically, all of the big name Democrats-announce they are running-or "thinking about it"-get a "pay out" from big oil and drop out the race. Mitch Landrieu and John Breaux-which leaves way for the "token" Bobby Jindal to put the nail in our coffins for oil corruption in this state.

The professionals from "out of state" or "newly arrived"-are nothing in comparison to the New Orleans native professional who spread out from Hammond to Lafayette.  About 35% of our own home grown teachers, bankers, city workers, cops, professors, doctors and attorneys haven't been able to return to New Orleans due to no reasonable place to live, safety and high levels of illegal immigrants.  Many of the native professionals have been swooped up by other states or Parishes and it is ridiculous that we pander to tourist while making no effort to reconnect with the native middle class of this city.  This had to be a sick and twisted game plan and fortunately it has failed.  It is two years later and the state officials-including Gov. Blanco's "New" New Orleans-underestimated the resolve, intelligence and determination of the native peoples.  Developers are angry and calling us names-because we put a "stop payment" on their corruption.

As a small business owner-the initiative to reduce leasing rates for business owners-who open a business in designated areas-sounds like music to my ears.  I plan on opening some technology based businesses in the city within the next 24 months-and I also plan on training some of the low income natives-to work in various fields.  I am funding this strictly from my own pocket and will ask no money of any bank or Federal aid.  New Orleans is in bad shape because the adults in this city are selfish, sinning, stupid, greedy, over indulgent and decadent. We can not sacrifice our children so outside people can find it fitting to relocate into the city.  The citizens come first and it is dame time that the local government realizes this fact! You can't keep a native unemployed, to hire an illegal , without harming the children of this city.  I am always happy when I hear education being talked about in rebuilding in New Orleans.  I'm worried about the black youth native population of the area-as far as the older blacks-I couldn't care less-they were ignorant from jump street and proving it all day long in this city(excluding middle class J.P., Algiers, Kenner and Uptown black folks. They know who they are.)

Mayor Ray Nagin and Ed Blakely realize that without respecting the native history and culture-nothing will ever adjust or shift, in this city.  We are the roux of this New Orleans.
