Beyonce=Good Diva! Classy Diva!  Kanye West=Bad Diva or Divo.

Kanye, Kanye, Kanye!  Does this Cat ever stop being a diva?  It is so irking to see someone with such talent care so much about winning awards.  Is his self-esteem that low, that if he doesn't when an award or if an award show doesn't go the way that he feels it should go, that he gets suicidal?  There's an award show, somewhere in the U.S. and Europe every week!  It aint that dam serious Kanye!

Last night at the VMAs Kanye West, made a public outburst and ranted against Taylor Swift winning an award over Beyonce.  Beyonce did win the biggest award of a the night Video of the Year!  Taylor Swift got a nice little "around the house" voice and her videos look like Mandy Moore knock-offs but at least she writes her own songs.  Beyonce then had to clean up another Kanye created mess by yielding the floor to Tayor Swift, which also lessen her win.  Now, the public will eventually find a way to blame this on Beyonce.....as usual.  Everything gets blamed on Beyonce or Britney Spears. Taylor Swift and Beyonce were both the victims of a legendary Kanye West Eccentric Diva Fit.  Historically, Beyonce gets blamed for everything so I am waiting for my email box to fill up with links to websites claiming that Beyonce paid off Kanye to prop up her Single Ladies video.  The media will find a way to blame this on Beyonce or Britney Spears-like they always seem to do.

Kanye West, should have his own award show, then he can do like Clive Davis, and award whomever he wants to award. 

 Clive Davis, owns the Grammys and he also has a "talent development" music contract with American Idol, therefore every year, Mr.Davis gives Grammys to artist that he has a financial stake in (mostly from American Idol) and not to the artist that deserves the awards.  Country singer, Toby Keith has been boycotting the Country Music Awards for at least 4 years.  Even though Toby Keith is one of the top selling country artist, he gets passed over for awards.  Award shows have nothing to do with talent and more to do with back room dealing and politics.

Kanye West could be using his platform and bully-pulpit to bring light to other serious issues, that involves him and other artist.  For instance, the LAPD arrested Kanye because one of his body guards broke a paparazzi camera at the Los Angeles airport.  Now, every single person in L.A. is sick of the paparazzi.  Judges allow these people to run wild, harass citizens, drive like mad men on the streets of L.A. and yell directly in the face of kids of celebrities.  Actress, Resse Witherspoon, had a crazed paparazzi screaming in the face of a baby, that she was carrying out of an elevator!

There have been incidents of LAPD shutting down entire sections of the airport, and faking a Britney Spears incident, so that the cops could make it onto TMZ.COM!  This is insane.  Kanye West should be ranting against the highly unregulated field of paparazzi and wanna-be entertainment cops, who are clearly criminal in their behavior.

Is being all about wining awards limited to hip-hop artist? No. Diva-like behavior is found with agents, producers, studio CEO's, talent managers, actors, writers, t.v. networks, marketing people, politicians and on and on and on.  There are actually agents and managers(many are my friends), in Hollywood, who take out advertisements in Entertainment publications, congratulating themselves for just being alive! It's absurd!  Kanye is just showing the fact that he only makes music, in hopes of winning an award, so that he can talk shit.

At the end of the day, Award Shows have no impact on record sales.  No one cares about them and the public is already over saturated with too many award shows, as it is! Which is why they pull stunts to get ratings.  There's an award show, every month, for something involving the entertainment industry.  I have never seen an industry, so ego driven, that they really do think that people want to constantly see them accepting awards!  Artist should worry more about crating good work and not spending 99% of their time, throwing fits about awards.  Beyonce is all about making everyone feel welcomed and never trash talks anyone.  Kanye should check himself and his ego at the door.  Even though he ranted on Beyonce's behalf, it was still an egotistical move on his part to bring attention to himself.

Kanye West, has thrown a fit, at pretty much every award show that he has attended, and if he is always in disagreement with the Award Shows and fails to realize the politics involved then he should just stop attending them!  It is very sad for a man to be that old and still acting like a woman scorn!  Now that he is throwing un-welcomed fits on behalf of other artist, maybe someone will shake him!  Kanye is out of control! Maybe someone will sit down and explain to this guy that constantly acting like an idiot is not becoming of a semi-educated hip-hop artist, who claims to be rapping about the higher good.

New Orleans Native & Katrina Survivor, Dawn Richard, Finds Success with Sean Combs. by Nagara Duplessis

I have followed the career of Dawn Richard since the early days of M t.v.'s "Making Da Band" which is a show that allows unknown talents to compete for a record contract with Bad Boy Records. Dawn Angeliqué Richard(born August 5, 1983) is now a successful singer/song writer. Early on in her teenage life, Richard began performing with a local New Orleans group called "Realiti". Discovered as a solo artist by Kemic A. Smothers at a 2004 live performance at Tipitina's Uptown in New Orleans. 

Richard is a former member of the musical group Danity Kane, from 2005 to 2009. She is currently a member of the group Dirty Money, along with label head Sean "Diddy" Combsand another singer/songwriter named Kalenna.

Danity Kane, was a top selling female group but when it comes to Diddy's reality show created bands, everyone knows that they never last but Dawn is now a full blown, working Celebrity in the Entertainment Industry.

Dawn Richard isn't the first artist, from New Orleans, that Diddy has picked up for one of these M t.v. shows, but she is the only artist, that has ever survived a Sean Comb's production and lived to tell about it.

After Hurricane Katrina aka U.S. Army Corp of Engineers struck New Orleans, Dawn's family was forced to relocate to Baltimore, Maryland due to armed cops and militias that threatened violence to blacks who attempted to return home following the storm.  Some New Orleans black citizens-simply traveled further and further away from home, until some were living as far North as Maryland and New York.  It was through this relocation that Dawn Richard found a way to audition for Sean "Diddy" Combs in New York and made the final cut for Danity Kane.   Dawn's family fled New Orleans with the clothes on their backs.  After the state of Louisiana closed off certain areas of the city, that just so happened, to be the areas where many middle class black folks lived-the family started running low on funds and low on options, while displaced by Katrina.  Dawn Richard had the weight of the world on her shoulders, when she auditioned for Diddy's new girl-group.

Dawn was immediately seen as one of the most talented and the most greatful member of the group(She shut-up, worked hard and didn't irk Diddy).  When Sean Combs dismantled the group due to the females bickering and challenging him, on a decision to allow Dawn to sing on one of his tracks, without the entire group-the New Orleans native was the last surviving member......and NO ONE in the history of "Making the Band" has ever survived the wrath of Sean Combs. 

I did not want to get involved in the entire Danity Kane feud, which is why I did not write about Dawn sooner but instead chose to wait and see if Diddy was going to be true to his word and invest in Dawn's musical career and so far, Diddy has kept his promise to the public.

Dawn Richard went on to release some solo tracks and can now be seen on M t.v.'s "Making His Band" where Sean Combs takes the viewers behind the scenes of putting together a band for a world wide tour. There are some very talented musicians, on this show, BUT Diddy needs a brass line....BAD!

Louisianians are very talented and resilient people and Dawn Richard proves that nothing can get her down.  Dawn still loves New Orleans, but like many natives, she hates the fact that it is attached to the rest of Louisiana!

I do not know if I give her more credit for surviving Katrina or Sean Combs but she deserves some major props!

(New Orleans,La 12 midnight) Tangipahoa Parish, La native, Britney Spears shows more love to the Creole community.  First, after La. Gov Piyush "Bobby" Jindal cost the city of New Orleans a very important Science Convention-which would have generated much needed tourism dollars, due to him attempting to ban Science education in Louisiana class rooms, Britney Spears came in and kicked off her highly anticipated and much in demand "Circus" concert tour in the Big Easy. LOUISIANA LOVES YOU BRITNEY!!! Knock Em Dead Baby Choctaw Eyes!!!!!!

Now, in another act of love for her roots, Britney Spears elevated Creole, Kristinia DeBarge, to Pop Star status when she was tapped by Britney Spears to open her August North American Circus tour! It kicks off August 20th in Canada!!!(Kristinia DeBarge-learning moves for the Britney S. Concert)

What would we do without the female reincarnated Elvis, from Kentwood, La?  Britney Spears has shown that she is a solid, caring and stable person who will never forget where she came from.

Britney Spears, has been working non-stop except for a brief day, with her sons around her L.A. Mansion Pool-when she emailed me about eating some good ole fashion Bar-B-Q! Emmmm!  You go Girl! But I Know Mama Gotta Pay the Bills!  Britney has knocked out North America....TWICE! and Europe!  NO ONE CAN KEEP A GIRL, WITH THAT TYPE OF TALENT DOWN!

Britney Spears, has a very strong and wide ranging voice.  Her voice is quite soulful and when mixed some New Orleans Afro-Creole Congo Square bass lines and beats-she can't go wrong.  Britney records her own background vocals-and she really unleashes a very powerful voice.  She has a winning formula and the Louisiana Gods are with her!

 Even though Fox News's Bill O'Reilly keeps slamming Britney on his Fox News show, it appears to be that Bill O'Reilly has more interest in Britney Spears than he is willing to let be known.  Can anyone say Obsessed?  Bill O'Reilly suffers from a serious case of jealousy. The North-East Irish tabloid anchor was evidently upset that Britney Spears appeared on David Letterman's show and not his-so he called her a "pinhead."  I will keep what I know about Bill's twisted sex life to myself.  Keep dreaming Bill!  Go play with your Britney Spears dolls while your wife is knocked out on Oxycontin at night because she is so humiliated from your last run in with a female Fox News staff member's attorney.

Anyway, Kristinia DeBarge is the daughter of El Debarge, who was Janet Jackson's first husband and the one that Demita-Joe (Janet Jackson) is still in love with.

I contacted Debarge's manager, and Kristinia is grateful for the opportunity and is also a self made artist, like Britney Spears with a God-Given gift for music and showmanship.

Keep your eyes open-for the second half of Britney's Circus Tour-Cuz it will be off the hook!

Britney Spears, understands her heritage and uses all of the richness of being from Louisiana to keep her music fresh and cutting age!

Britney & Beyonce are the top selling female artist in the entire world, and both have Louisiana roots!  Hollywood should know by now that Louisiana is where the talent is!

Jackson Family Sucks! Scam Artist Scum! What Public Memorial? Where?

I hope that the Jackson family didn't think that they were going to get away with this scam "public" memorial and no one was going to write about what a huge scam this thing really was.  It whole thing ran me about $1200.00 bucks so I really do not want to hear L.A. county whining about cost because they ran enough of scams and price hikes to be well past the 1 million that this "public" memorial cost.(Janet is the Mastermind behind this family and she knew she was being deceptive, which is why she walked her "big bone" self to the Nokia theater and gave that dumb speech) 

The corrupt LAPD, that solves no crimes is trying to make this Memorial cost the city of L.A. 4 million dollars! The city wants $100,000.00 so that the LAPD can pay for bag lunches? Give me a fucking break! What was in those bags?....Caviar

Then the British Producers of "Britain's Got Talent" made this into a concert for that fat kid from Whales!

 

O.K. First, when they gave the tickets away, they didn't say if the tickets were for the Nokia, hold-over area, or for the Staples Center. Meaning I went all the way to L.A. from New Orleans to pay my respects only to find out that this really wasn't a public memorial service.  This was nothing but the Jackson family, being Jacksons.  I have seen these people, Janet, Katherine, Jermaine on at least 5 occasions in the past 10 years and they are really anti-social and have no friends-so when they with-held 9,000 tickets I knew that there was no way that these people would have 9,000 friends to fill those seats.

This was not a memorial service for the public.  I don't care what anyone says. These people used Michael Jackson's fans to get on television and have this grand show of egos and performances but were too good to let the fans sit with them in the Staples Center.  There was not even need for an over flow center being that the Jackson family made sure so many stadium seats were empty and everyone at the Nokia theater could have also fit within the Staples Center.

I knew it was  a scam when the family, talked about with holding 9000 tickets for themselves.  None of the "celebrities" who performed could fill up a stadium BUT Michael Jackson. Not a single one. So, they wanted an audience that otherwise, they could NEVER have commanded...except maybe Mariah.

What they did was put on a shame memorial service. The Staples Center was dam near 40% empty. Then on top of it, the Tow/Cop scam in L.A. county was shameful.  I mean, these people were towing cars and stealing radios and the cops didn't even want to take police reports. In that aspects, L.A. has become more corrupt than Mexico.

One lady had her car towed from a legal parking space, in downtown L.A., by some Mexican run tow service and when she picked it up, almost immediately after locating the tow yard, gave her keys to the Mexican Mafia worker to bring her car around from the back, he stole the radio in like 60 seconds!  That's a professional thief! Anyone who can steal a radio, from a car in that amount of time is a professional thief!

What exactly was the need for all these LAPD officers, when the only ones committing crimes were the officers!  What was wrong with using 10.00 an hour Security Guards from L.A. Platt Security instead of $75.00 to $200.00 an hour cops?  New Orleans could have thrown this "public" Memorial Service for like $20,000 instead of $1.2 million that L.A.  is claiming it cost the city.

Secondly, the Staples Center supposedly has these Union Workers but not one person, working at the Staples Center was an American.  They were all immigrants.

Anyway, it was pathetic that the Jackson family, used fans to get a public memorial, in name only, but really blocked off the Staples Center to the fans because supposedly they had 9,000 friends that they needed to with-hold tickets for and therefore people were thrown into the Nokia theater where you got to watch Mariah Carey, sound bad from a t.v. screen.  I have enough connections, in entertainment circles, to know that the Jackson family, set around and wanted the hype but didn't really want the fans to be seated, in the Staples Center, with them and that is the real reason why the Jackson family with-held all of those tickets.

This entire Michael Jackson public memorial was a scam. When the cameras panned through to the audience in the Staples Center about 40% of the background is blacked out-because the seats were empty because the Jackson's really didn't want this to be for the public. All they wanted was the attention and t.v. cameras.

If you haven't seen Britney's new concert-I suggest that you go and buy some tickets. That's a great theatrical show. You get your money's worth. She is one of the best dancers and entertainers in the world. She kicked off her first show in New Orleans, and funneled more money into our local economy than La. Gov. Piyush Jindal has done the entire time that he has been in office!  Where Jindal is a liability for New Orleans; Spears is an asset for the economy of Louisiana.

If you do not own her CD-than your a looser. She is putting out the best dance music, in the history of music!

 

I guess Meagan Kelly at Fox News Network-has nothing better to do than stir up some non-issue over a Britney Spears song, then what does that say about her?  She is on a network, where like 10 women have complained about being sexually harassed by Bill O'Reilly of "The Factor" and his bosses either discredit the women or bribes them to keep quiet.  Keep in mind that Fox News also owns the porn company that distributes porno films to the Best Western Hotel chains!   What is the difference of Spears singing "If You Seek Amy" and Fox News running commercials about increasing the size of your penis to "pound" your wife, as a "Leave it to Beaver" cover in the middle of the day????

 

Spears, a native of Louisiana, has a song titled "If You Seek Amy" and like many old school Louisiana recordings of conjurers and blues players-you layer the song with a "provocative" message.

Many conjurers from New Orleans, recorded songs that placed curses on the government of the U.S.  One of the most famous was Nina Simone. She wasn't from Louisiana but she cursed white American run government; for its racism against blacks, in her music.  She was definitely a fan of this New Orleans tradition and she sang alot about New Orleans in her music. I think its great that Britney Spears has picked up on a tradition, that was originated in her own Louisiana back yard.

 

While New Orleans has only recently made the mistake of changing Congo Square into Louis Armstrong Park-the blacks weren't punished for Voodoo practices in Congo Square, like in other parts of colonial America but black artist commonly used double-meanings in songs to make a political statement.

This is an art-form that Britney Spears understand because she really understands the heritage of lower Louisiana state.

 

 

Of course, if idiots at Fox News would get a life and find something else to do than ignite this Culture War then kids would have not figured this out. In fact, Fox News wouldn't have figured this out if someone hadn't disclosed it to them. Why so much Hate Against Louisiana Talent?

This time last year, I was driving from White Plains,NY to the JFK airport heading home to Nawlins, making my way through the Bronx snow and all I heard, on the radio, was NY'ers hating on LIl Wayne and B. Spears.  It's irking.  If it wouldn't be for Louisiana-the music industry would be bankrupt and asking for a welfare bailout!  And Obama would gladly give them one!

I can dam sure hate on tall the slop coming out of California and New York.  Chicago is doing o.k.  They have Jennifer Hudson and Kanye.

 

First, of all if it wouldn't be for the South, music would be really really dead right about now. To keep it real, people outside of the South can't dance! They do hip-hop but that's it. They can't create their own dance moves! I have never seen such dead artist like the ones who aren't from the Southern U.S.   Radio talking heads wouldn't have anything to hate on being that Jay-Z is the last legit rapper out of N.Y. and lord knows that L.A. media shouldn't even fix their lips to talk about Britney Spears-not with all of their generic, recyclable garbage being called talent.

People need to recognize that you can't keep the soul, energy and power of Louisiana artist in a box. The TMZ.Coms and Harvey "Gay" Levin talks about their accents and the use of the word "yall."   Has anyone ever heard the way that someone from L.A. sounds? Or someone from NYC?  These cities are so full of immigrants that people can't even speak the English language!

So, NY can say that Lil Wayne can't rap or raps like an 8 year all they want to-but does anyone really consider the junk that Snoop Dog or Sean "Puffy" Combs puts out....rap or legit flows?

Lil Wayne stay winning awards and we know that the local media doesn't give New Orleans talent any attention because they are...Ku Klux Klan Nazis.  That's no secret about NOLA.Com and the Time Picayune.  That is the full time job of the NY Times company-NOLA.com and Time Picayune-act like a brainwashing propaganda machine for the KKK.  Just keep doing negative stories on New Orleans and keep people trying to join a Southern white hate group. That's the whole motivation of the New Orleans local media. I don't care how many token blacks, Mexican or Asian they get to write and blog-the garbage is still the same.

We know that Britney Spears is a white girl but she "Louisiana white"-and that means she can dance, got booty and sassy.  That's the kinda white girls that I went to school with in Louisiana. So, Britney gets talked about also. She doesn't get any love either since she's not singing country music like Dolly or Reba.  And these newly arrived Alabama hillbillies act like country music is native to Louisiana. It's not!  Spears don't have to go around singing about her washer and dryer done left her in the rain.

L.A. can talk about Britney Spears-all they want to and call her crazy or a whore but no one said anything when Gweneth Paltrow dated 7 men in 5 months! Or when Fergie urinates on herself or when the Pussy Cat Dolls, sleeps with every coked up record executive on Wilshire Blvd!

 

Stop hating!  I am the only one that can hate on Louisiana artist! If your not from here then you need to talk shit about all of that other trash in the entertainment industry.

ZYDECO-CREOLES OF COLOR MUSIC

Zydeco is a popular accordion-based musical genre hailing from the prairies of south-central and southwest Louisiana.  Contrary to popular belief, it is not Cajun in origin; rather, zydeco is the music of south Louisiana’s Creoles of Color, who borrowed many of zydeco’s defining elements from Cajun music. (In turn, Cajun music borrowed many of its traits from Creole music.)   The word zydeco (also rendered zarico, zodico, zordico, and zologo) derives from the French expression les haricots, meaning "beans."  Folk etymology holds that the genre obtained this name from the common Creole expression "Les haricots sont pas salés" ("The beans aren’t salty").  This phrase has appeared in many Creole songs, and serves as the title of a popular zydeco recording (also called "Zydeco est pas salé").   Without debunking this etymology, folklorist Barry Jean Ancelet has noted that this explanation has been generally accepted without much critical analysis.  He also has observed that variations on the word zydeco appear in black French songs from as far away as the Indian Ocean.  Most interestingly, Ancelet contends that Les haricots sont pas salés is a lyrical metaphor for difficult times: in the past, Creoles seasoned their food, such as beans (les haricots), with salted meat — when times were bad, salted meat became too expensive, which explained why "the beans aren’t salty."  Zydeco is actually the most modern form of Creole music from Acadiana, and it first appeared after World War II, when pioneers of the genre like Clifton Chenier and BooZoo Chavis combined more traditional sounds with new rhythm and blues elements.  In fact, the first zydeco-ish recording was Clarence Garlow’s hit "Bon Ton Roula," issued in 1949 on the Macy’s label.   (Earlier forms of la musique créole were called, for instance, juré, la-la, and pic-nic, and are perhaps best represented by the recordings of Creole accordionist Amédé Ardoin.)  Zydeco has evolved considerably over the decades, and now draws on pop music sources like soul, disco, rap, and even reggae.   It also is increasingly performed in English, instead of in its original Creole dialect.  And, oddly, it generally is regarded as "party music" — even though early zydeco drew heavily on "low-down" blues elements (as demonstrated by Clifton Chenier’s repertoire).  Zydeco frequently appears in movies, TV programs, and commercials  — even more so than Cajun music, which, unlike zydeco, has retained much of its traditional flavor.  It has attracted a loyal worldwide outside Louisiana, as demonstrated by the large numbers of "zydeco dancers" on the east and west coasts.  Despite its commercialization (and Americanization), zydeco remains a relevant means of cultural expression for the Creoles of Acadiana.
